AIR TRAVEL
Delegates are responsible for organising their own
travel to Perth. Perth is serviced by Qantas, Ansett II, and Virgin Blue
airlines nationally; by SkyWest within WA; and by several international
airlines. Delegates interested in discounted fares are advised to book well
in advance.
TRANSPORT
Airport transfers to Fremantle locations can be arranged
with local shuttle services for approximately A$15 each way, or by taxi.
The Esplanade Hotel is no more than a 5-10 minute walk from all the accommodation
alternatives suggested, from the Fremantle café/restaurant district, and
from the train/ferry terminals.
THE VENUE
The conference will be held at the Esplanade Hotel
in the historic port of Fremantle, WA. Fremantle is a favourite tourist
attraction in the Perth area, and is a 30 minute train ride or 45 minute
ferry ride from the Perth CBD.
CLIMATE
Average daily minimum and maximum temperatures for
Fremantle in late September are 11°C and 19°C, respectively, with a 30-40%
chance of rain showers. Onshore winds (the Fremantle Doctor) can make the
afternoons and evenings feel quite cool.
